MLP FF 8 cover progress 1

So I decided to show some of what goes into a cover, for me at least. I forgot to take a photo of just the pencils untouched. This shows how the pencils are before I start inking atop them. I don't get extremely tight with the pencils as a whole, as a lot of the tighter details I leave for inks. If you examine closely, you can see some of the faint remaining pencil where I've drawn things through- such as Rarity's hip under her right hoof, and the bend/fold of her left leg under the dress. 

Also note the chandelier that didn't make it past the pencils... time said get rid of it, it's gonna be under the logo anyway.

For penciling I use my old companion- a mechanical pencil that was made for me as a gift for being Best man at my friend's wedding. Everything I've drawn for 14 years has come from the HB lead I house in that pencil.
