Well. Today is the day.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic issue #1 hits the comic shops today, as well as becomes available for digital download.
Nervous? Yep.
Reviews started a day or two ago, but today the floodgates open. So far, everything has been monumentally positive.
MLP #1 has crested over 100,000 issues in pre-order sales. That means it is the first comic in almost a decade to break mainstream sales. Our iTunes pre-sales outsold The Walking Dead.
Katie Cook and myself want to send a tremendous THANK YOU to the comics and MLP communities. I don't think any of our Pony team had any idea what we were in for, certainly not to this scale. Reviews of MLP and comic fans alike have been extremely generous with praise for Katie's writing, Heather Breckel's wonderful colors, and my art.
19 years ago today, my mother passed away. I'd been so horrendously busy and covered up that I didn't realize it until late last night. It hit like a ton of bricks. In some way or another, my mother is with me today and that makes this day that much more special to me. Earlier this year, one of my most important influences and teachers also left us, Joe Kubert. His influence helped bring me to this day. In great love and admiration, today is for these two people.

I love the premise on the story. Props to Katie there! The expressions look great, I must say. I love Applejack's "That's them," face and Rarity's reactions to Pinkie de-beautifying her mane.
