I always wanted one of these covers more than the retailer-exclusive cover I got by accident.  Oh well, at least I can look at the beautiful artwork here.  C:

Hey there, I've admired your work for a long time but I've just found your dA page, and I just wanted to ask a few questions (if you don't mind, I mean. You're one of my inspirations and idols and I've always wanted to know how you make everything look so amazing). How did you manage to get the colors (particularly on Pinkie Pie) so smooth and even? The shading is also really amazing and words cannot describe how much I love the detail and effort you put into this. I'm slowly teaching myself how to use Copic Markers and I've been wondering how to get all the lighting effects on the hair and pretty much everything else to work. Do I just avoid that area and use a lighter color in the spaces I left blank? Do you have any tips on how to create a smooth gradient? And I like how the white of the eyes aren't just white- how did you make sure the grey blended into the white so smoothly?

I'm sorry for bombarding you with this whole paragraph of questions, and I apologize for wasting your time. If you take the time to read and perhaps answer some of my questions I would be very grateful! Thank you so much for doing the amazing artwork that you do, and thank you for giving me a reason to push myself harder to be better- I'd like to be just like you someday!

As soon as I am able, I'll be posting a listing of Copics I use for each pony, and basics on how I approach it. for now, I'll say it's best to work light to dark, put down light areas first! You can always darken, you can't always lighten.
