Tease? Seems to me like she's delivering the goods. Well, at least some of them.

I have a question: you seem to do a much larger drawing and then crop the part that will actually be the book cover. I had always assumed you worked specifically within the known boundary of the already-determined comic book cover dimensions. Is there a reason you do it this way instead?

Well, this isn't a book cover, it's a trading card... at 2.5x3.5 final size. These are drawn at a slightly larger size, and then trimmed down to the final card size however. For this, it is simply easier on the artist than to have to draw to the very edge of the paper... the edges start to get worn.

If it is an item meant for print, than yes, most artwork is done specifically with what is called a "Bleed" area. This is an area that, once the work is in it's final print stage, is then cut down to final trim size. This is because printers do not print edge to edge, there has to be an area for the machines to hold onto. Any printed art or photo you see that has an image that goes all the way to the edge has been cut down to look that way.

Awww! That's absolutely adorable. I love how stunned Dick looks, LOL. Very true to their original Batgirl/Robin dynamic.
